It all started when…

Robert first heard the hammered dulcimer at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire and immediately fell in love with the sound. For the next 20 years, anytime he was asked what instrument he would want to learn to play the answer was always the same, the hammered dulcimer.

In October of 2017 he purchased a used hammered dulcimer on the internet to start learning. It had a large crack across the sound board, but was playable! He shared photos on social media to share his excitement. To his surprise, he received a message from his Aunt, asking if he wanted to have a hammered dulcimer that had been sitting unused in her closet for years.

On June 16, 2019 Robert entered and won the Mid-East Region Hammered Dulcimer Championship competition held at Dulcimer Days in Coschocton, OH! Part of the prize is admission to the National Hammered Dulcimer Championship held at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS in September of 2019.

While admission to the competition is covered, the rest of the trip is not! Robert and Stephanie are fundraising to help get to Kansas for the competition! There are a few different ways to support the trip:

To help fund the trip, Robert and Stephanie have released an album of harp and hammered dulcimer music with the sounds of nature. If you would like to purchase CD, please check it out in our digital music store!
