Certified Music Practitioner (CMP)

Certified Music Practitioners (CMPs) are musicians who play live therapeutic music to provide a healing environment for all present, especially those who are ill or transitioning. Certified Music Practitioners work in various settings including hospitals, hospice and home care settings as well as other non-traditional settings. The music is provided as a service and is not intended as a performance. Since the music is live, the CMP tailors all of musical pieces to a patientís or groups immediate needs at any given moment.

Certified Music Practitioners (CMPs) are trained through The Music for Healing and Transition Program (MHTP), which is accredited by the National Standards Board of Therapeutic Musicians. For more information please visit the MHTP website at

Currently, Stephanie plays therapeutic harp music at the Childrenís Hospital of Pittsburgh of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. The live improvised music Stephanie provides for Gentle and Restorative Yoga classes, offered through Three Rivers Yoga, helps to create an atmosphere of healing that compliments the benefits of this yoga practice.
